Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Here's what you need to know in plain language: We collect the information you voluntarily provide — name, email, phone, organization — when you contact us or engage our services. We use it to respond to your inquiries, deliver our consulting services, and send you relevant updates if you've opted in. We don't sell your information. We don't share it with banks or financial institutions unless you've explicitly asked us to as part of an engagement. We use cookies for basic site functionality and analytics. You can email us at contact@easywebcnsltng.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
1. Who We Are
EasyWeb Consulting Inc., an independent banking consulting firm registered in British Columbia.
Registered Office: 13007 107A Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia V3T 0R3
BC Business Registration No.: BC1287401
Phone: (617) 272-9375
Email: contact@easywebcnsltng.com
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information through three primary channels:
- Contact form submissions: Your name, email address, phone number, organization name, and the content of your message.
- Engagement-related information: Financial documents, banking agreements, organizational data, fee schedules, account statements, loan disclosures, and other materials you share with us during the course of a consulting engagement.
- Website usage data: Pages visited, time spent on site, referral source, and general geographic region — collected via analytics cookies. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.
We do not collect information from third-party data brokers, social media scraping, or any other indirect source. Every piece of personal information we hold was provided directly by you or your organization.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used for the following purposes — and only these purposes:
- Responding to inquiries. When you submit a contact form, we use your details to reply within one business day.
- Delivering consulting services. Engagement-related documents are used to conduct our analytical work — fee analyses, covenant reviews, regulatory assessments, process audits, and similar deliverables.
- Sending project updates and deliverables. Friday situation reports, draft deliverables, final reports, and engagement-related correspondence.
- Sending marketing communications. Only with your explicit opt-in consent. We don't add contact form submissions to a mailing list unless you specifically request it.
- Improving our website and services. Anonymized analytics data helps us understand which pages are useful and where visitors encounter friction.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal information under three legal bases recognized by Canadian privacy law:
- Consent: Contact form submissions and marketing communications. You provide consent when you submit your information or opt in to updates. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contractual necessity: Information shared during an active consulting engagement is processed because it's required to deliver the services you've contracted us to perform.
- Legitimate interest: Website analytics and service improvement. We have a legitimate business interest in understanding how visitors use our site, balanced against minimal privacy impact (data is anonymized).
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Full stop. Not to banks, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
We may share engagement-related information with financial institutions only when explicitly directed by the client as part of an active consulting engagement. For example, if we're submitting a credit presentation to a lender on your behalf, or facilitating an RFP response, we share only the documents you've approved for submission — and only with the institutions you've specified.
We use the following categories of third-party services to operate our business:
- Website hosting: Our site is hosted on infrastructure located in Canada.
- Email delivery: Transactional emails (form confirmations, engagement correspondence) are processed through a third-party email service provider.
- Analytics: We use anonymized website analytics to understand visitor behaviour. No personally identifiable information is shared with the analytics provider.
All third-party service providers are bound by data processing agreements that restrict how they can use your information.
6. Cookies
Our website uses a limited set of cookies:
- Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality — remembering your cookie consent preference, maintaining session state. These cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
- Analytics cookies: Collect anonymized usage data — pages visited, session duration, referral source. No advertising profile is built from this data.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking scripts.
Cookie consent is managed via the banner that appears on your first visit. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site — the consent banner will reappear.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as there's a clear reason to keep it:
- Contact form data: 24 months from the date of submission. If no engagement follows, your inquiry is archived and then deleted.
- Engagement records: 7 years from the conclusion of the engagement. This aligns with professional standards for consulting firms and British Columbia's limitation periods for contract disputes.
- Analytics data: 26 months. After that, it's automatically purged by our analytics provider.
If you request deletion of your data before these retention periods expire, we will comply — subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain specific records (such as financial engagement documentation that may be relevant to regulatory compliance).
8. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the following rights:
- Access: You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Correction: If any information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request correction.
- Withdrawal of consent: You can withdraw your consent for us to process your personal information at any time. Note that withdrawing consent may affect our ability to deliver services if you're in an active engagement.
- Complaint: If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@easywebcnsltng.com or call (617) 272-9375.
9. Security
We take the security of your information seriously — here's what that looks like in practice:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
- Access controls: Engagement-related documents are accessible only to the team members assigned to your project. We maintain role-based access controls across all internal systems.
- Secure document sharing: Engagement materials (financial documents, banking agreements, deliverables) are shared through encrypted channels — never via unencrypted email attachments.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in accordance with PIPEDA's breach notification requirements.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as our practices evolve or as regulations change. When we do, we'll post the revised version here and update the "last updated" date at the top of the page.
For material changes — anything that substantively affects how we collect, use, or share your information — we'll also notify active clients via email. If you're not an active client, checking back here periodically is the best way to stay informed.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy? Something unclear? We wrote this in plain language on purpose — if anything reads like it was generated by a legal robot, let us know and we'll fix it.
